Surgery is the “Gold Standard” treatment for management for skin cancers. The piece of cancer is surgically excised and sent off for histopathological examination to make sure all cancer cells are removed. Once the pathologist give a report that all cancer cells are removed, no further treatments are needed.
If the skin cancer is large, neighbouring skin may be rotated or moved to cover the wound so there is a good match with the colour and texture of your normal skin. This is called a skin flap. The resulting scar is much nicer than if a skin graft is done.
We know everyone is unique and deserve their very own approach to their skin treatment. So whether you need some advice or are ready for treatment, we invite you to make an appointment today so we can assist you in experiencing a positive journey to better skin and a more confident future.
