Since its inception in 2002, the staff at the Skin Cancer and Cosmetic Clinic have been servicing the skincare needs of its patients – offering highly sophisticated, fully equipped laser and cosmetic treatments and has now treated well over 60,000 skin malignancies either through surgery or non-surgical treatments.
Founder and Medical Director Dr Samuel Seit has worked in skin cancer medicine, laser medicine and cosmetic medicine for nearly three decades. He has a particular interest in the early diagnosis and minimally invasive treatment of skin cancer, and in the development and clinical application of advanced laser and artificial intelligence technologies.
Dr Seit has lectured and served as a session chair at numerous national and international medical conferences and has been involved in the training and mentoring of doctors in skin cancer, laser and cosmetic medicine.
He played a key clinical role in pioneering international research into the real-time, non-invasive diagnosis of skin cancer using laser-induced plasma spectroscopy combined with artificial intelligence and deep learning. The research was successfully completed and published in the *Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology (JAAD).
The study demonstrated that this novel technology could distinguish skin cancers from benign lesions in real time with high diagnostic accuracy, representing an important advance in the development of non-invasive, AI-assisted skin cancer diagnosis.
Dr Seit continues to work at the forefront of skin cancer diagnostics, laser medicine and emerging medical technologies, with a focus on translating scientific advances into practical improvements in patient care.
The SCCC is home to experienced independent medical practitioners providing skin cancer diagnosis, treatment and cosmetic medical services.
Dr Seit and the team at the Skin Cancer & Cosmetic Clinic take pride in being the industry leader, with key global recognitions, of many of our treatments. Dr Seit is very particular with his work, as is his staff, to give our patients the best cosmetic outcome whether it be a skin cancer surgery, laser surgery or injecting dermal filler.
Our Clinic was the first to bring to the Australian market the CoolSculpting, Pelleve and Mixto Laser treatments just to name a few and is constantly acquiring proven technologies and techniques to treat skin problems. Dr Seit developed and published treatment protocol for Photodynamic Photorejuvenation, wrote the training manual and ran National Workshops on Photodynamic therapy back in 2005 to educate Doctors in Australia wanting to perform this powerful treatment. Our Clinic is proud to be Artificial Intelligence technology enabled in our Total Body and Dermoscopy Imaging of our patients. We are in the cutting edge of Laser Medicine research and is currently the approved centre for clinical trial for real time skin cancer diagnostics with Q-Switch NdYag laser.
