Chemical Peels

At the Skin Cancer & Cosmetic Clinic we tailor our peels to each individual’s skin conditions and to the cosmetic outcome they desire.

Chemical peeling is a procedure that uses a chemical solution (usually fruit acids or other acids) in different strengths to cause an interruption or peeling of the surface layers of the skin resulting in improving and smoothening the texture of the facial skin.

There are several types of chemical peels and different formulations that can be used so it is best to consult a professional in determining the best suited to your specific needs.

Chemical peels are helpful in addressing facial blemishes, wrinkle, acne and uneven skin pigmentation. The precise formula used may be adjusted to meet each patient’s needs. Chemical peel may also remove pre-cancerous skin growths, soften acne facial scars and even control acne.

Although chemical peel may be performed in conjunction with a facelift, it is not a substitute for such surgery, nor will it prevent or slow the aging process. If deeper peels are desired for more advanced skin disease, we have more sophisticated laser treatments offered in our clinic to replace deep peels which have less side effects and less discomfort and down time.

Chemical peel is most commonly performed for cosmetic reasons – to enhance your appearance and your self confidence. Chemical peel may also remove pre-cancerous skin growths, soften acne facial scars and even control acne.
