At the Skin Cancer & Cosmetic Clinic, we tailor our peels to each individual’s skin conditions. Located at Neutral Bay in Sydney’s North Shores, we strive for excellence in our treatments to achieve the cosmetic outcome our clients desire.

What does a chemical peel do?

Chemical peeling is a procedure that uses a chemical solution (usually fruit acids or other acids) in different strengths to cause an interruption or peeling of the surface layers of the skin resulting in improving and smoothening the texture of the facial skin.

How many types are there?

There are several types of chemical peels and different formulations that can be used so it is best to consult a professional in determining the best suited to your specific needs.

What is a Chemical Peel used for?

Chemical peels are helpful in addressing facial blemishes, wrinkle, acne and uneven skin pigmentation. The precise formula used may be adjusted to meet each patient’s needs. A chemical peel may also remove pre-cancerous skin growths, soften acne facial scars and even control acne.

Although chemical peel may be performed in conjunction with a facelift, it is not a substitute for such surgery, nor will it prevent or slow the ageing process. If deeper peels are desired for more advanced skin disease, we have more sophisticated laser treatments offered in our clinic to replace deep peels which have fewer side effects and less discomfort and downtime.

A chemical peel is most commonly performed for cosmetic reasons – to enhance your appearance and your self-confidence. A chemical peel may also remove pre-cancerous skin growths, soften acne facial scars and even control acne.
